As a gift from God and a powerful vehicle for spiritual formation, persons of all ages may participate in meaningful expressions of their faith in the music ministry of First Church by:

Using music for the praise of God

Using music to help create a climate in worship where persons can be   encountered by God 

Create an environment where all persons can offer their talents in praise to God

Provide musical and theological images which help us live out our faith in our daily lives.

You can join in praising God through one of our many choirs:

THE ANGELUS CHOIR Sundays during the school year 4:30-5:15
Four through six year olds enjoy their first singing experiences as they learn about sound, instruments, teamwork and social interaction.  The emphasis in this group is on early musical experiences. 

 

THE CAROL CHOIR Sundays during the school year 4:30-5:15
First and Second graders build on their earlier musical encounters as they form into a more organized “choir” experience.  The emphasis throughout the year shifts from experiencing music to the earliest opportunities for leading worship. 

THE WESLEY CHOIR Sundays during the school year 4:30-5:15
Third through sixth graders continue to develop music skills through choral singing and individual tutoring.  This choir participates in worship monthly as well as presenting seasonal musicals throughout the school year.  

YOUTH CHOIR Sundays during the school year 4:30-5:15
Seventh through twelfth graders join voices in an outstanding and talented group which sings for worship once a month in addition to special concerts and services throughout the year. 

THE CHANCEL CHOIR Wednesday 7:00-8:30
The Chancel Choir is made up of adults ages 18 and above.  The choir sings for the 11:00 a.m. worship service.  This ensemble presents seasonal selections with orchestra as well as solo instrumentalists.  

WOODLAND RINGERS Wednesday 5:50-6:50, Room L01
The Woodland Ringers consists of adults of all ages with varying musical backgrounds.  Previous hand bell experience is encouraged but not required.  The group participates in worship services and special community events.  

THE FOLK CHOIR Sunday 7:00-7:45, Room L07
The Folk Choir consists of adults of all ages who enjoy singing praise to God.  A number of instruments are incorporated into the Folk Choir's music, including banjo, guitar, and harmonica.
